2009 Bicycle Program

3 August 2009

The bike to School Program was a wild success this year as over 160 bicycles were awarded to graduating 6th graders and first and second in class, grades 4 & 5.

Bikes!

As time goes by, the student body is getting younger and younger and pass rates are improving, (both very good signs). When the bikes are given and the students have a way to get to the secondary school, the final barrier is removed to continuing education past primary school.

We are so proud of all our graduating 6th graders. Some of them are as old as 18 and yet some of them are going on to 7th grade. We admire these students’ determination greatly and were quite happy indeed to award all the bicycles on your behalf. This year was our biggest bike distribution ever and we thank everyone who sent $35 to buy a bike. It means more than we can calculate.
