Over Khmer New Year in mid April, the PLF celebrated 5 years in Cambodia by inviting all our local support staff to the house for BBQ and a big cake!

Books, shoes, shirts, pens, chalk, computers, noodles, bandages, bikes, field trips, chili packets.

A 30 minute slideshow was shown after dinner, highlighting 5 years of  activities at schools with visitors, volunteers, donors, and of course students! It was powerful to actually sit down and see how far we’ve come in such a short time.

The PLF Family

A lot of supporters are not fully aware of all the locals who help us so tremendously in our work day after day in Cambodia. On the website and elsewhere, a lot of focus is put on our international volunteers, but the daily grind is performed by this group of folks, who are always happy to work without recognition, without monetary reward, without fanfare. To them, I can only offer my most humble gratitude. Without you, nothing happens! Thank you for your inspiring service to your community, thank you for the critical assistance you provide to others who come to work, thank you for the warmth of your hearts and the work of your hands. I stand in admiration.    ~Lori Carlson
