PLF's Diana Gross Awarded National Geographic Traveler of the Year

We’re beaming with pride after PLF’s Director of Instructional Technology Diana Gross was recognized in the international spotlight. She’s followed her dream with great success and now she’s helping our students realize theirs, all the while bridging the world’s digital divide.

Diana’s worldwide teaching project began last year and took her to a handful of developing countries as she taught digital storytelling in some of the world’s most underserved areas.  One of her stops was in Siem Reap, Cambodia to do a series of workshops with PLF’s student media team at Tchey School.  The rest is history.

It was love at first sight for PLF, and now Diana has joined the PLF family as one of the leaders of our blossoming student media program that has already produced amazing results.  Earlier this year the student media team won $10,000 after they entered a documentary into an international competition.

As the National Geographic article has been circulating around the world this week, Diana has been spending five days with the student media team at the PLF Canada Srayang Dormitory in Preah Vihear Province as they shoot a documentary about the struggles our students there face in the journey to get an education.

During the next year, Diana is working alongside PLF Media Teacher Sokha Khoun, and eventually Sokha will takeover the entire media program for PLF. We’re lucky to have Diana and our students and staff are soaking in all the information and life experiences this amazing teacher has to share!
