We get occasional inquiries about the breakfast program so I thought I’d take some space here to talk about what we spend on food, why we think it’s important, and under what kind of governance it’s distributed.
It’s commonly known that hungry kids can’t learn and there’s no doubt these children are hungry. We have come to see that when children eat nutritious food and drink clean water, their immune systems improve and they stay healthier. Attendance goes up. (more…)

Phew~! Opening day went without a hitch this year, thanks mostly to the enlistment of a group of Cambodian and international volunteers who came to load, unload, cook, serve, distribute, play, dance, clean up and organize. (more…)

The challenges at Koh Ker School have not lessened, but the rewards are starting to increase, so we are uplifted and encouraged.

The kitchen at Knar School is an outdoor affair where breakfast is cooked for the kids 6 days a week. There are 3 in ground stoves that burn wood. Rice is cooked here every morning and served with fish and sometimes the vegetables grown in the gardens at the school.
