Koh Ker Library:  “The House that Love Built”

There were times during the course of the planning and execution of constructing the library at Koh Ker School that I was sure we had all lost our minds. I’m also sure that the kind souls who shared our vision for undertaking this challenging project and gave us the money to do it, also often wondered if we had cracked!

PLF Teams up with Safe Haven to Bring Support to Children with Disabilities

PLF is committed to building relationships with other competent organizations to bring services to children who lie outside the periphery of the core services PLF can deliver. We are beyond grateful to have found such a partner in Safe Haven Medical Outreach. They are a small and highly effective organization who work with mostly rural families of children with disabilities, bringing them much needed therapy, resources and community.

Body And Mind Educational Workshops

Welcome Aboard, Hannah Najar

Hannah first came to Cambodia in the middle of 2014 as part of a study abroad program along with three other students from Union College.  By the end of her two months here, Hannah’s thoughts about her future started to flourish in a very different direction.  In the main part because of seeds planted whilst spending time volunteering with The Ponheary Ly Foundation.  (more…)

William Stafford, Age 10, Launches Chess Club

My family has been volunteers with the Ponheary Ly Foundation for the last 8 years. Being the youngest in the family, I was left behind in the early years. But in the last two years, I was able to come. Wow, it was finally my turn and I was thrilled! I have watched my older brother and sister do some amazing things, like starting a football team or putting on a drama production. I always heard about what they had done. It was my chance to suggest something that we could bring that would be meaningful as a volunteer. (more…)

The Evolving Hygiene Program

PLF, along with the huge and varied support we get from our donors, volunteers and supporters, is very lucky to be able to boast many success stories in its 9 years of life.  The wellness program at Knar is one of those success stories and one which is now being shared to Koh Ker school.
