TEACHER BLOG: Cambodia’s Sports

 In Cambodia sport is not popular yet because a lot of people they don’t think that sport is important to them. They do not get any money from sport.

Presently we have around 40% of the people who like sport but if they want to play, they have to spend money. They like volleyball and some football.

Football in the countryside is not so popular but in town it is.

However volleyball in the countryside is very popular as it is in town. Now the Ponheary Ly Foundation has started to focus on sport in Cambodia. (more…)

STUDENT BLOG: Prepare for the Spelling B

ADVOCATE BLOG: Look What She Did!

Next month, I am traveling with my family to Cambodia for what started out as simply a vacation. When I learned we would be staying at a B&B run by Ponheary Ly, I became interested in her foundation and the work it does. At first I thought that meeting her would just be an inspiring glimpse of what someone incredible was doing to change lives. An Epic PLF Fundraiser: 10,000 Miles Across South America!

The Ponheary Ly Foundation promotes access to public educational opportunities and the health and well-being of children and young people in Cambodia’s Siem Reap and Preah Vihear provinces.

We believe that in order for children to learn, they must have food security, a stable place to live, transport to school, and access to medical care — the same everyday supports that should be afforded to children throughout the world.  (more…)
