Tchey School Media Workshops: Video

Tchey Media Team Covers Global Float Dance

The first Global Float Dance was held in Siem Reap and 25 other places in the world in July. The Tchey Media Team has just been learning about the ways in which social media can be used to share ideas and mobilize people, so PLF transported them to Siem Reap from the countryside to document the event. Media Lab Takes First Place in Goodtube Competition

Last night at 2am we received notification from Goodtube that Soy Sen and his team had won the Goodtube Spring Video Competition. Their submission, entitled “I Am One” describes the PLF technology program from the perspective of the student and goes on to explain why the media class needs the Goodtube grant; in order to make the program available to more students, buy equipment and fund a teacher. The grant, in the amount of $10,000 will arrive just in time to get the students working on some projects over the summer and be ready when school starts to integrate media into an already highly successful technology program at Tchey School. Blueheart Charity in Cambodia

We are very pleasant and gratefully for this project in the well fixing and rebuild supported by the Eugene Nelson from Blueheart Charity. On May 14th 2012 he arrived in Cambodia with his friend to observe the water well situation in Kok Snoul village in order to fix and rebuild the wells for school and our village.

Ponheary Speaks at Microsoft

Ponheary was asked to speak at the Innovate4Good Microsoft Convention in April.  As part of the deal, PLF was awarded a $5,000 grant for “Innovation in bridging the digital divide.” Thanks to Microsoft for the grant and also to Ponheary for continuing to spread the word about our project.
