Sometimes people ask “What can I bring“?
Our greatest need is obviously for funds to pay our teachers, buy books, breakfast and all the other things we need to make school meaningful for these children. So please, take that money you’re planning on spending and make a donation!~
If you’re coming over and wonder what else you might be able to contribute, have a look at our Amazon Wishlist. We are constantly adding new things that we wish we had but just can’t find here. Some of the items are luxury items, some are necessities, but all are needed. On the list, items are prioritized and there are things to fit every budget and weight requirement.
If you’re more interested in things you can buy in Cambodia, scroll down to the bottom.

Please note, do not ship things to PLF address in the US. We need this stuff in Cambodia, not in US! Bring them with you.
Something we always need are Toner Cartridges and the ones in Cambodia are expensive and last about 10 minutes.
HP 21 & 22.
Vitamins
The Koh Ker Students do well on vitamins. The vitamins for sale over here are not as dependable as the ones from abroad. Vitamins brought in should be chewable multivitamins for children or chewable vitamin C. There is no need to claim them on your customs forms. Do not bring any prescription medicine.
Sometimes people ask “Can I buy stuff there“?
Yes you can and we wish you would! ! Because of the volume of buying we do locally and the fact that a surprising number of things are available here for a very good price, it makes a lot of sense to buy things in Siem Reap rather than bring them from abroad. Supporting the local economy is a good thing! We shop at Khmer owned businesses in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. You can buy on your own or let us take you to our usual sellers where we get better discounts.
Unless you happen to be coming just before a regularly scheduled distribution, you’ll need to be content to restock us on the things listed below that we always need. We don’t allow foreigners to pass things out to the children. They can however, be delivered to the school by you.
Vegetables
The school at Knar gets rations from the World Food Program but the meals consist of rice and more rice. Our student’s massive brains also require protein and vegetables~! Depending on what’s in season, $20-25 will buy about 100 pounds of vegetables to add to breakfast on any given day. That gets 440 children a good helping, important because it might be the only source of fresh vegetables they get that day. Visitors to Siem Reap can also buy cases of fish ($34) to add to the WFP protein ration, which has 27 children sharing a 16 oz can.
